Jump and Splash Test 2

Description

OK this is the 2nd time I tried to upload this, let's hope it works right this time.

Please see the first one Jump and Splash Test 1 so you can compare them.

Goodness gracious the water splash effects took me ages to do. I tried out so many different water and splash brushes it made my head spin. Makes a mental note to write the name of the brush/water stock provider on each layer the next time she uses a lot of different brushes. I had to go back layer by layer through all the frames at the end to sort the ones I had used. I identified them all but what extra work it made for me.

I had to modify the positions of the dolphins I used and resize a couple because after I added the splashes and animated it, the dolphin was jumping in a zigzag pattern (LOL) and a couple of the dolphin images were too big so looked too close to the viewer compared to the others.

I would very much appreciate comments on how I can improve this animation. Here are just some of the questions I have I know answers to would be helpful in creating the final piece. Not sure yet if I will do a test 3 or not:

1. I added a black layer and a purple layer overlay blending mode to make it darker.
2. How is the speed of the dolphin jumping? I adjusted the speed as suggested on the Test 1 image making it slower in the beginning, longer at the top position and faster when the dolphin is diving down into the water. If I slowed it down any more it looks too jerky. Does it look too jerky now?
3. Did I use enough water splashes? I sure hope I did.
4. Should I include a frame at the end just showing a big splash with no dolphin to transition from the dolphin entering the water and then coming out again? I watched several slow motion videos of dolphins jumping and often there was a big splash right after the dolphin disappeared under the water.
5. Now I am not sure I can do this but do you think water ripples (circular) at the points the dolphin is in the water would look good? Again no idea if I can do this but maybe I could try.

A very special thank you for the stock providers of the stock I used to create this dolphin animation.

This is really cool. :) I was looking at the water brush stock from Shibies and wanted to see how it worked, and you did a lovely job with it.
